Abstract

Current theories to extend pure fluid thermodynamic properties to supercritical mixtures have been examined by comparison with computer data. Emphasis is placed on a large variation of potential parameter ratios and density. It is found that, while the VDW1 approximation is generally the best, its predictions are considerably poorer at supercritical conditions than in the normal liquid range.
