Abstract

The technique of extended mantle radiotherapy for Hodgkin's disease and other malignant lymphomas is described. Morbidity was entirely acceptable in younger patients despite the increased integral dose. Contraindications include severe reactions, recent chemotherapy, uncontrolled medical problems, and advanced age. The possible role of splenectomy in the success of extended mantle therapy is discussed.
