Abstract
Objective To observe the expression of mehmocortin 4 receptor (MC4R) gene in human lung cancer.Methods The samples were obtained from 15 cases with lung cancer specimens.Semiquantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) strategies and Western blot were used for analyzing the MC4R mRNA and protein expression in 15 samples and adjacent noncanerous tissues.Results MC4R mRNA and protein expression was increased in 80.0％ of human lung cancer and in 26.7％ of adjacent noncanerous tissues (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion MC4R activation might be in human lung cancer.MC4R gene may play some roles in the pathogenesis of human lung cancer.
