Abstract
Objective To establish a comprehensive method to evaluate clinical doctors, by which the quality of clinical doctor could be assessed comprehensively, objectively and precisely. Methods Taking clinical oncologists as the study sample, a total of 13 doctors from Cancer Center of Beijing Shijitan Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University were evaluated on 5-dimensional key parameters in this study, including clinical work, scientific research, medical education, popular medical science education to the public and daily work performance. The score of each dimension and an integrated score were collected. Radar chart methodology was used to analyze the doctors' comprehensive quality, based on the score collected. Results The overall median integrated score for the whole study population was 36.5. The integrated scores of academic leaders, backbone doctors and main force doctors were 122.6, 39.7 and 31.2 respectively. Academic leader got relatively high score in each dimension, especially in scientific research. The comprehensive quality among the 3 levels of doctors is not balanced, which shows the reality of daily performance. Conclusions The 5-dimensional comprehensive evaluation system combined with radar chart methodology for oncologist can reflect the comprehensive quality of 13 doctors in daily work. This comprehensive evaluation method contributes to objective evaluation of doctors' comprehensive quality, as well as providing reliable evidence for medical talent cultivation.
