Abstract

Nils Höeg has two engineering degrees from Loughborough University,UK, and a M.Sc. degree in Industrial Management from MIT ( Sloan Fellow 1967-68). He worked at Boeing Aircraft (1962-64) and headed Norwegian university and industrial computing centres (1965 to 1984). He was the Senior Vice President for Hydro Data from 1985 to 1990 and the Corporate IS Staff from 1991 to 1996. Since late 1995 he has chaired the development of the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL), which addresses the IT skills needs of millions of new computer users. ECDL is supported by the European Commission and the Council of European Professional Informatics Societies (CEPIS.) Höeg retired recently but continues in an advisory role at Norsk Hydro. Höeg also represents CSC Index Research and Advisory Services in Norway and Denmark.Request access from your librarian to read this article's full text.
