Abstract

In this paper, shape-stabilized phase change paraffin were prepared and studied. The paraffins used in the experiment are the mixtures of liquid paraffin and 46 # , 48 # paraffin or n-Octadecane, and the mixtures of n-Heptadecane and 48 # paraffin. Their phase change temperatures are between 20°C and 30°C, and the phase change latent heat are high. High-density polyethylene was mixed by the proportions of 50, 60%, 70%, 80% and 90% with paraffin mixtures. The thermal properties of the shape-stabilized PCMs were studied experimentally by DSC. The results showed that the prepared shape-stabilized PCMs are the ideal thermal storage materials to be use in the wall. The results in this paper can provide references and basis for the application and development of the phase change material wall.
