Abstract
This paper presents the science-based technical solutions and measures to improve energy performance of the electrical complexes that include high-power frequency converters with active rectifiers (FC with AR) through the use of specialized passive filters (SPF). Processing of the experimental data was carried out in a mathematical package Matlab with the application Simulink, where analysis of voltage quality of 10 kV network, with and without SPF was conducted using the data obtained at the existing metallurgical complexes of JSC “Severstal” (Russia), JSC “Balakovo Steel Factory” (Russia), “MMK Metalurji” (Turkey). The article gives the application efficiency study results of specialized passive filters in the internal power supply systems of the rolling complexes, functioning at PJSC “Severstal”, JSC “Balakovo Steel Factory”, “MMK Metalurji”. Key research insights presented in the work have novelty, theoretical and practical significance. One of the main results is the SPF use recommendation for the negative influence exclusion of the resonance phenomena. The findings of the study can be used in the design of power supply systems at the metallurgical enterprises, having in their composition powerful electric drives with active rectifiers, to ensure electromagnetic compatibility and improve the electricity quality.
