Abstract

The article is aimed at comprehending the role of the experience of creative perception of urban space in the development of university students’ artistic vision. The focus in this research is given to the pedagogical potential and methods of usage of plein airs in the urban environment. The connection between the specifics of urban space and the peculiarities of the artistic perception of a city is traced. The article provides and discusses examples of creative works and educational tasks based on open-air practice in an urban environment and aimed at developing various forms of students’ artistic vision. The analysis provides strong arguments for the idea that the use of these tasks in the educational process helps to form students’ artistic perception in a comprehensive manner.
