Abstract

In the spring of 1929, the Institute for Schoolwork Methods, together with the National Minorities Section of the State University of the North and the Committee of the North, organized two pedological-pedagogical expeditions: one to the northern Baikal region to study Tungus children, and the second to Altai, to study Oirot children. The institute had to surmount tremendous difficulties in this undertaking. The main difficulty was the absence of adequately trained leaders for such work. The commission organized to direct these expeditions enlisted the services of anyone who could help us even indirectly. We found that there was a total lack of practical guidelines for pedological study of children of different nationalities.
