Abstract
Brief notes on how the application of computing machinery in various ecological studies has developed are offered. The author’s own experience of handling diverse tasks is described as an example of the evolution and uses of computing machines from their early days until now. Not only computers have been changing, but also the tasks addressed through solution of various ecological problems in Earth and Life Sciences.

Представлены краткие записи о том, как развивалось использование вычислительной техники в разнообразных экологических исследованиях. 1 представлена в самом общем виде схема работ по изучению свойств некоего объекта с минимальным привлечением вычислительной техники (только для статистической обработки данных), которая использовалась в 70‐х годах прошлого века. Никаких конкретных вычислительных задач в нейрохирургическом институте не было, и ЭВМ «Минск-2» использовалась в основном для «отопления» первого этажа в холодную ленинградскую зиму. Первые программы пришлось писать в машинных кодах (это была модель внутричерепного кровообращения для космической лаборатории ИЭФБ АН СССР [Москаленко, 1967]).
