Abstract

This article reports empirical evidence on the expected life of mobile homes. Three sources, using three different definitions of loss, are drawn upon: published studies, proprietary data from Foremost Insurance Company and Census data. The Census data are analyzed using logit analysis, and a life table for mobile homes is produced. Based on these analyses, implications are drawn for policy-makers and consumers, for the insurance, financing and manufactured housing industries, and for researchers.
