Abstract
The Fast Muotipole Element Method (FM-BEM) has been applied to large scale engineering problems successfully. The Theorem of the fast multipole method (FMM) expansions of the kernels for 3D elastic FM-BEM are obtained and proved（Theorem 2）, furthermore, the mathematical foundation of the FM-BEM is completed.
