Abstract
ABSTRACT This research contains the results and the research of baglama instruction supported by Traditional Turkish Art Music in the music teacher training institutions. The necessary data has been obtained by scanning related resources on the subject of the study and three study groups have been established related to the research. The first study group consists of eight expert lecturers who have conducted and are giving baglama lessons in the Faculty of Fine Arts, State Conservatories and Music Teacher Training Departments of the Education Faculty, where structured interviews are carried out. The second study group was created in order to evaluate the process of implementation of courses and examinations and consist of three baglama lecturers. And the third study group consists of four baglama students who are at the second semester of the first grade in the Music Teacher Training Department of Education Faculty of Necmettin Erbakan University, where the experiment was carried out. A 2-student control group and a 2-student experiment group were created in the experimental process of the research. In this 15-week process, the static group comparison which is an experimental design was used. A total of 3 units, to be implemented as a unit for every 5 weeks, were created and baglama teaching – training was applied to the control group without the support of the Traditional Turkish Art Music, while it was applied to experimental group with the support of the Traditional Turkish Art Music. At the end of each 5-week, groups were given a two-part test, including performance and theory. All applied courses and exams were recorded with a video camera to have healthier evaluations. All results of all the tests were evaluated and interpreted with comparisons. Key Words: Music Education, Baglama, Baglama Training, Traditional Turkish Folk Music, Traditional Turkish Art Music.
