Abstract
Iam a Mexican-American Sociologist, and I conduct research on society and technology. I am interested in issues related to inequalities and how technology may further exacerbate the divide between those who have access to basic resources, such as housing, food, education, and meaningful employment, and those who do not. As a Sociologist and woman of color, I view the world through a different lens, a lens of oppression and barriers. So, in the spirit of the Sociological Imagination, a concept introduced in 1959 by Mills, which takes the personal perspective and applies it to the greater outlook of society [1]. I have decided to introduce you to my world, my research, and my experience. Here is my story, and how I discovered the Treadmill of Production and why this economic change theory is relevant today, in the age of emerging technologies.
