Abstract

Abstract The integrated flux, linear radius and effective temperature of 17 Com A (A0p CrEu), the hottest member of the Coma Berenices open cluster, are determined using the Infrared Flux Method. The surface gravity is derived by fitting the H β profile. The effective temperature and surface gravity are found to be smaller than most previous determinations. The evolutionary status of 17 Com A is discussed in light of these new parameters using stellar evolution modeling. 17 Com A appears to be finishing its lifetime on the Main Sequence.
