Abstract

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons was established 150 years ago when Queen Victoria bestowed the royal charter in 1844. It was the culmination of a long struggle by a small group of veterinary surgeons who had the vision and the tenacity to seek public recognition for the profession. To mark the ‘Charter 150’ celebrations, Jean Turner traces the evolution of the veterinary nursing profession.
