Performance ImprovementVolume 39, Issue 8 p. 8-17 Article The evolution of the shared services business unit Leland Forst PhD, Leland Forst PhD Dr. Leland Forst is CEO of The Amherst Group Limited (AGL) in Greenwich, Connecticut, a consulting firm specializing in shared services. He is also liaison for The Conference Board's Council of Shared Business Services Executives in North America and Europe. Prior to founding AGL, Dr. Forst served as Director of the Board and partner of A. T. Kearney, Inc. He holds a PhD in Organizational Theory, an MS in Personnel and Industrial Relations, and a BA from the University of Massachusetts. He has served as a professor at CUNY, Adelphi University, and Cornell University. He is a Certified Management Consultant, a member of the Institute of Management Consultants, and a board member of IMC's New York Chapter. He currently serves on the University of Massachusetts' School of Management's Business Advisory Committee.
