Abstract

A conventional hydrogenation disproportionation desorption and recombination (HDDR) process has been applied to Pr 2(Fe,Co,Zr) 14B alloys. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Mössbauer spectroscopy show that an intermediate metastable boride, Pr(Fe,Co) 12B 6 can be found in the disproportionated powders processed at 860°C and above. During the recombination, this phase remains during the initial stages but disappears with longer recombination treatment.
