The failure of tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) farming could make farmers stop their cultivation activities. As an alternative, vannamei shrimp cultivation gives hope for productive, profitable, and sustainable cultivation. The development of shrimp farming in Tegal City is carried out through simple methods, intensive technology, and the use of Busmetik technology or mini-scale shrimp farming on plastic ponds. The high demand in the shrimp market continues to encourage farmers to increase their productivity by increasing stocking density. The purpose of this study is to determine the performance of vannamei shrimp cultivation which is cultivated intensively including yields, survival rate (SR), feed conversion ratio (FCR), and shrimp growth in Tegal City, Central Java Province. The research was conducted from July to October 2019. The research method used was a case study with 16 plots of ponds, and the average area of the pond was 1000 m². Based on the results of the calculation, it can be seen that the average yield is 1,603 kg per pond with a stocking density of 100 fish/m², a survival rate (SR) is 85.6%, a feed conversion ratio (FCR) is 1.41 and the shrimp growth is 0.16 grams per day. Economically, based on the Benefit-Cost Ratio (B/C ratio) of 1.46, vannamei shrimp cultivation in Tegal City is profitable so that shrimp farming can be carried out sustainably.

Background: Effective Reproduction Rate (Rt) is used to evaluate COVID-19 transmission; although Tegal City has the lowest cumulative cases in Central Java, the spread of the virus remains rapid. Intervention efforts are carried out through vaccination coverage, positivity rate, and level assessment as a shared responsibility to reduce the transmission rate. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to estimate the spread of COVID-19 with the intervention and to determine whether there is a correlation between the COVID-19 Rt Number and vaccination coverage, positivity rate, and level assessment situation in Tegal City. Methods: Observational quantitative research design. The type of research used was SIR (Susceptible Infected Removed) mathematical modeling and descriptive analysis through an ecological study approach and Spearman correlation statistical analysis. Results: The results of the study showed a decrease in the number of cases of vulnerable and infected subpopulations after public health interventions, followed by the results that the positivity rate and level assessment situation were significantly correlated with the strength of the relationship powerful to the Covid-19 Effective Reproductive Rate with values (r=0.856; p=0.00) and (r=-0.712; p=0.00), while vaccination coverage was not statistically significantly correlated with a value of (r=-0.209; p=0.137). Conclusions: The positivity rate and COVID-19 level assessment situation were statistically significantly correlated to the effective reproductive rate of COVID-19 in Tegal City with a strong correlation. Meanwhile, vaccination coverage did not correlate statistically with effective reproductive rate. Further studies must evaluate the effectiveness of combined interventions (vaccination + testing + mobility restriction) in various epidemiological settings.

One of the adverse impacts of climate change is drought, which occurs more frequently in Tegal city, Indonesia. The application of drought index analysis is useful for drought assessment to consider adaptation and mitigation method in order to deal with climate change. By figuring out the level and duration of the drought. In order to analyze drought in the specific area, Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) is an index to quantify the rainfall deficit for multiple timescales. In 2015, Indonesia experienced severe drought, which has not been analyzed, yet. Thus, it is important to assess a quantitative evaluation of the drought condition. The study shows that from all deficit periods, the most severe drought in duration and peak took place in 2015, with each drought index as follows: 1 month deficit or SPI-1 (-3.11) in 1985 (-2.51) in 2015, 3 month deficit or SPI-3 (-2.291) in 1995 (-1.82) in 2015, 6 month deficit or SPI-6 (-2.40) in 1997 and (-1.84) in 2015, 9 month deficit or SPI-9 (-1.12) in 2015, 12 month deficit or SPI-12 (-1.19) in 2015. The result underlines the potential that SPI exhibits in drought identification and the use of the rainfall strongly linked to drought relief policy and measure implementation in Tegal city.

The existence of Shia as part of the treasury of Indonesian Islam is often marginalized in the mainstream narrative of history and religion, even though it has strong historical roots since the 7th to 9th centuries AD through trade and preaching routes, especially in the coastal areas of Sumatera and Aceh. In its development, the Shia community has experienced various dynamics, ranging from cultural acceptance to theological and social marginalization, especially after the reformation which was marked by increasing conservatism and identity politics. This study aims to explore the historical traces of Shia in Indonesia, examine public perceptions of it, and identify contemporary challenges faced. The research method used is qualitative based on literature studies with a descriptive-analytical approach to historical literature, relevant journals, official documents, and media reports. The results of the study show that negative perceptions of Shia are shaped by sectarian narratives, narrow religious education, and unbalanced media, which have an impact on social discrimination. Meanwhile, contemporary challenges include socio-political pressure, hate speech, and restrictions on religious freedom. Although various advocacy efforts and inter-school dialogue have been carried out, acceptance of Shia is still limited. Therefore, it is necessary to reconstruct more inclusive perceptions and policies to support a just and pluralistic religious life in Indonesia.
