Abstract
This paper describes the programming courses curriculum implemented by the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT), University of Malaya (UM) from the year 1995 to the present time. It explains the idea and logic behind the various programming courses offered at the faculty, the changes that the programming courses went through throughout the years, and also the future plans that FCSIT shall take with regards to the programming courses offered. It also discusses the students' performance in the core programming courses throughout the years; taking into account the feedback from companies that offered placements to students during their industrial training, and also their examination results.
