Abstract

The SEG Continuing Education (CE) Program provides members with opportunities to further their professional geophysical education. The CE Committee, currently under the leadership of chairman Rod Cotton, is primarily responsible for the content and quality of the program. The SEG Business Office in Tulsa, under the direction of Bill Underwood, manager of Geoscience Education, is accountable for all business and logistical aspects of the program, ensuring that courses are effectively advertised and administered for maximum responsiveness to the needs of the members. In this article we'll describe the evolution of a CE course, from its inception as a solicited offering or submitted proposal through its review and acceptance to its continuing renewal in the program.
