Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the subjection of married women living in the center of a city in Turkey to domestic violence in terms of submissive behaviors. The study was descriptive and cross-sectional. The data were collected from married women (n = 7097) who volunteered to participate in the study and completed a survey form between September 2019 and February 2020. Submissive behavior scores were high in the women subjected to physical violence, based on many characteristics, and the difference between groups was statistically significant (p < 0.05). Nurses should be active participants in the diagnosis, treatment, care, and rehabilitation processes of women who have suffered from violence and should support them in improving their coping skills.
