Introduction Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder that is characterised by qualitative impairments in social interaction present in the use of non-verbal behaviours such as eye contact, joint attention; qualitative impairments in social communication shown by limitations in language development with difficulties in conversations, and social interaction deficits [1].
