Abstract
When driving on the highway, the level of bus drivers’ safety consciousness was low and this was the root cause of some serious and major accidents. The level of safety consciousness came from drivers’ heart, so to measure and study was difficult. To measure objectively the level of bus drivers’ safety consciousness, a certain sample of bus drivers were selected as research subjects by using an objective evaluation method to calibrate its level of safety consciousness. The number of accidents, driving speed, speed dispersion and the maximum value of speed were taken as alternative evaluation indicators, and correlation relationships between various indicators and the level of safety consciousness was studied. Then the computation model of the level of bus drivers’ safety consciousness was established. The result indicated that the level of drivers’ safety consciousness was related to the number of accidents and speed dispersion. It was not related to the mean value of speed. It was strongly related to the maximum value of speed. It could evaluate the level of drivers’ safety consciousness by using the maximum value of speed during the statistical period, then classify according to the relevant fuzzy discrimination model. Examples show that the evaluation model based on the maximum value of speed is effective.
