Abstract

A method due to McNamee is used to derive a generalization of a formula of Davis for the error in approximating an integral of a periodic analytic function over a complete period by the generalized trapezoidal rule. A feature of this generalization is the inclusion of an explicit error-term due to the presence of poles of the integrand near the real axis.
