Abstract

Background: Deformities in the craniofacial region are of great social and functional importance. Several surgical techniques have been used to treat these pathologies, but often theses approaches are aggressive and needs long-period of healing. The minimally invasive technique of fat transplantation has evolved rapidly within last two decades. The main drawback of fat grafting is unpredictable graft resorption. Several studies have searced for new ways of increasing the viability of the transplanted tissues to overcome this disadvantage. The promising approach is to mix the fat graft with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP). Our experiences showed that 16% PRP was the most effective concentration to promote cell proliferation and improve fat survival rate.
