Abstract

In the wake of the 2008 financial crisis and in the midst of the sovereign-debt crisis that hit some Eurozone countries, the banking and financial sector is experiencing a period of unprecedented regulation. This paper aims to provide a perspective on the effects of the European System of Financial Supervisors on the regulatory landscape in an EU Member State like Austria. Finally, a brief evaluation of the efficiency of the measures taken is briefly evaluated.
