Abstract
The American Ophthalmic Pathology Club, which was organized in 1947 and which has met annually since then, has proved so successful and so stimulating that several similar clubs have since been organized in other parts of this country. The first regional group to form such a club were the Westerners (in 1957). Next to organize were the Midwestern ophthalmic pathologists, who attended their third meeting in March. The trend spread further to the East early this year when the Easterners conducted their first meeting in Philadelphia on January 26th and 27th. Finally, the contagion crossed the Atlantic to affect the Europeans, 21 of whom gathered in London to found the European Ophthalmic Pathology Society on April 10th and 11th. Two of their Charter Members, Norman Ashton of London and Ry Andersen of Copenhagen, had been guests of the American Ophthalmic Pathology Club at its Washington Meetings of 1959 and 1961,
