Abstract
In an earlier study, three different source methods (SSM, similar source method; IPSM, internal parallel source method; ISM, internal source method) were successfully developed to estimate radiation and scattering sound field. All these are methods of estimating exterior sound fields which are not suitable for estimating interior sound fields. In this study, the similar source method is modified to estimate the interior sound field. The modification is to move the sources to somewhere outside the boundary surface in order to estimate the interior sound field and to prevent the singularity problem when the source point is close to the field point. Finally, the sound field inside a 2D infinite cylinder and in a car will be estimated. The results will be compared with the results obtained by the boundary element method.
