Abstract
INTRODUCTION: International organizations perform a large volume of surgery in lowand middle-income countries (LMIC) but very few report outcomes data. Among groups performing shortterm humanitarian surgery interventions, complication rates are unknown due to a lack of patient follow-up. As part of a one month Global Surgery Elective, we performed urologic and general surgery procedures at Hospital St. Therese (HST) in Hinche, Haiti. The purpose of this study is to determine if a short-term follow-up clinic is adequate to collect surgical outcomes data that would lead to improvements in patient outcomes.
