Abstract

Under conditions of the systematic and comprehensive perfecting of socialism and Soviet society's further advance toward communism on the basis of accelerated socioeconomic development of the country, great importance attaches to the restructuring of all aspects and spheres of people's life activities, including education and upbringing. Socioeconomic transformations are exerting crucial influence on the school system as a vital aspect of society's spiritual/intellectual life. The whole history of the Soviet school system and pedagogy attests that successful upbringing is guaranteed only when it is predicated on a firm foundation of socioeconomic policy. The social and economic gains that have been won in the USSR and the other countries of the socialist commonwealth have acquired a universal and multifaceted character, extending to all members of society.
