Abstract
1. INTRODUCTIONIn this work we study the spectrum of the Maxwell operator. In theself-adjoint case it is well known that the spectrum consists of oneeigenvalue with infinite multiplicity in zero and other eigenvalues havingfinite multiplicities. However, the spectrum of the nonself-adjoint operatorwas not studied much though the nonself-adjoint perturbation rises from avery common phenomena, namely, from the conductivity.
