AbstractIn this paper we study the essential spectrum of the operator urn:x-wiley:0025584X:media:mana201600176:mana201600176-math-0001where is a positive absolutely continuous function on (0, 1) that resembles for some . We prove that the essential spectrum of coincides with the essential spectrum of the operator .
