Abstract
The article deals with the problem of fulfilling the duties of participants in criminal proceedings. It identifies means to ensure their proper execution. The concepts of legal obligations, guarantees (means) of ensuring their fulfillment, the system of these means combined into a legal mechanism of provision are discussed relying on the theoretical knowledge existing in the legal sciences. The elementary content of the theoretical concept of ensuring the proper execution of criminal procedural duties is determined and its essential concept is formulated. The elements that make up its basis are revealed and its importance for the effective solution of the tasks of criminal proceedings is substantiated.
