Abstract

Last month Richard Griffith and Cassam Tengnah considered how current discrimination law affects district nurse practice. This month they outline the proposals in the Equality Bill, which is being introduced to simplify and extend discrimination law to include socioeconomic factors, discrimination by association and dual discrimination. Significantly for district nurses and the NHS, it will extend discrimination related to age to include the provision of goods and services, such as health care.
