Abstract

Following the introduction of the routine 12 month Hib booster in the national childhood immunisation programme in September 2006, other encapsulated H. influenzae infections are now more common than Hib. The Health Protection Agency routinely follow-up all cases of invasive H. influenzae infections in England and Wales. The objective of ths study was to describe the epidemiology, clinical presentation and outcome of invasive non-type b encapsulated H. influenzae between January 2009 and March 2010.
