The environmental care level of junior high school students in surakarta

Abstract

Adiwiyata School is a place that facilitate the students to elevate their awareness dealing with the importance of taking care of the environment. The purpose of this research is to find out the implementation of Adiwiyata School and the students’ environmental care attitude on Adiwiyata State Junior High Schools (SJHS / SMPN) in Surakarta. The technique of the sample collecting employs Stratified Technique random sampling to determine the sample which is being examined, random sampling for teacher sample and staff also sampling quota for the students. The techniques of collecting data are field observation, questionnaire, interview, and documentation. The result of the research shows that the implementation of Adiwiyata School at SJHS 1, 7 and 11 in Surakarta is categorized as excellent. The students’ environmental care towards Adiwiyata School, which is seen from the result of the calculation, shows that the mean percentage is categorized as excellent.
