Abstract
ABSTRACT This study examines the relationship of the entrepreneurial personality, measured by The Sixteen Personality Factors Questionnaire (1), to 16PF profiles for Holland occupational types reported in previous literature. The sample of entrepreneurs (N = 136) are described on a number of demographic variables and the overall personality profile is compared to those of the groups composing Holland's types. In relation to Holland's six types, the entrepreneurs were distinguished by high scores on four personality factors describing them as more persistent, suspicious, self-sufficient and tense, but somewhat similar on other traits. Results of the calculated measures of distance in a profile-fitting analysis revealed that the entrepreneur profile was significantly distant from profiles for all six Holland's types, but less distant from the Realistic and Enterprising types.
