Abstract
The Enneagram is a modern model of personality styles that consists of 9 interconnected types of human behavior. Its name is derived from the Greek words ennea (9) and gram (drawing). The Enneagram originated in ancient times, with some tracing it to Babylonian or Middle Eastern roots.1 Oscar Ichazo, founder of the Arica Wisdom School in Chile, introduced concepts from the Enneagram into modern psychology in the 1950s.1 He created several versions of the Enneagram of personality as part of a broader program on human transformation, including theories of healthy and dysfunctional emotional and mental states for each type and a theory of what the lines indicate between the numbers.
