Abstract

The energy levels of 63Zn have been investigated by three different experimental techniques and some new low-lying states have been found. The observed levels in 63Zn have excitations of 190, 246, 627, 646, 649, (694) and 1061 keV. The relative yields of the reaction 63Cu(p, n) 63Zn to some of these levels is compared with the predictions of the Hauser-Feshbach statistical model. Spin and parity assignments of 5 2 − and 1 2 − for the first two excited states respectively yield best agreement with the results.
