Abstract
The problems of machinability of the WolKar new nanostructural hard alloy have been studied by analyzing a specific energy intensity of the diamond-spark grinding. It has been shown that despite the somewhat higher energy intensity of grinding the WolKar alloy as compared with grinding the WC-6Co alloy, the total technological net cost of using the WolKar alloy is essentially lower as tools sharpened by it exhibit a higher wear resistance.
