Abstract
Objective: The endonasal transsphenoidal approach to the sella with the operating microscope was initially described more than 30 years ago, and the transnasal transsphenoidal endoscopic approach to the sella turcica has recently become an option for pituitary surgery. Advancements in endoscopic surgery, however, suggest that a lower morbidity approach to the sella would be possible via the transnasal endoscopic route.
