Abstract

We know quite a bit about how the universe began: about 13.8 billion years ago, the universe exploded into existence at the big bang. It was very small and hot at that time, but has expanded and cooled off ever since. But how will the universe end? Will it expand forever? Or collapse back to a point? Or is there another possibility entirely?
