Abstract

Abstract The paper provides a discussion of the process that led to the disappearance of the Fulvii from the Roman political elite in the late Republican period. Special attention is given to the remarkable figure of Fulvia, the wife of Mark Antony, who stands right at the end of the history of the gens. A number of lesser figures and the role that they played in the late Republican period also receive some discussion, as well as the evidence for the involvement of Fulvii in the conspiracy of Catilina.
