Originally published in Portuguese, FQ makes this important interview with Eduardo Coutinho by Brazilian film critic Jose Carlos Avellar available for the first time in English. Conducted in 2000, Avellar engages Coutinho on the scope, breadth, and depth of his career in Brazilian film and television, from his origins in screenwriting and filmmaking of the Cinema Novo era up through his deeply engaged social justice documentary practices.
