Abstract

In this note we give geometric representation for the parameters in the fibril elongation process. We prove estimate for the one-sided Hausdorff approximation of the shifted (interval) step function by sigmoidal Chapman--Richards function. The Chapman--Richards function finds application in many scientific fields, including biology, population dynamics, chemistry, and fuzzy set theory. We propose a modified lag--time and elongation rate in terms of Hausdorff distance. Numerical examples, illustrating our results are given, too. ...
