Abstract

DSP is a programming language specific for design calculation problems, and is intended for designers themselves to describe and maintain their design knowledge. This paper describes the fundamental programming concepts of DSP and its programming style. It clarifies how to formalize a given problem in design calculations and which concept can be applied to what kinds of problems. It also shows the actual stage of the programming using examples of design calculation problems, and discusses the usefulness of this approach to design calculation problems based on the experiences from the applications of DSP.
