Abstract

AbstractWater proton relaxation measurements as a function of magnetic field on solutions containing paramagnetic metalloproteins contain information on (i) number and distance of metal‐coordinated water molecules, (ii) dynamics of water exchange, (iii) electron relaxation rates, and (iv) dynamics of the metal coordination sphere influencing electron relaxation. The use of appropriate theoretical tools permits us in many cases to learn about some or all of the above properties.
