Abstract

EPR and ENDOR investigations are carried out on irradiated K 2SO 4 crystals doped with CrO 4 2− ions. They indicate the formation of CrO 4 3− centers interacting with a nearby proton. The identification of the CrO 4 3− centers is based on their g values, the orientation of the g tensor and the symmetry requirements. The results are compared with related studies on MnO 4 2− in K 2SO 4 and K 2CrO 4 hosts.
