Abstract
ABSTRACTHas the electronic resources librarian position been redefined in its scope of responsibility since its origin in the 1990s? How is the position developing in actual practice? By reviewing relevant historical studies of position announcements, online staff directories, organization charts, and cross-referencing this information with Association of Research Libraries and Association of College & Research Libraries statistics for 166 academic libraries in North America, several discernible trends are revealed.
